History of The Green Car

Monday, November 30th, 2009

A decade ago, buying a hybrid was a lonely business. At the start there were actually only two types of these cars you could even buy and both of these really didnt seem to attract too much attention.

But while a hybrid might emit significantly less CO2 than a car of comparable size, it’s a long way from emitting no carbon dioxide at all, which is why they are merely stepping stones towards the truly zero-emission car.

The propulsion systems that completely eliminate tailpipe emissions include hydrogen-powered fuel cells and the battery-powered electric motor, but both face significant hurdles before they can compete with conventional cars.

Something that has turned out to be better is the electric car. Like a fuel-cell vehicle it produces no tailpipe emissions and little noise, and the distribution network for its energy source largely exists – taking electricity the final few metres to a charging post is nothing compared to establishing a hydrogen infrastructure.

The main problem when you are thinking of an electric car is actually the distance it is able to travel, it can only go for around 100 miles compared to 300 on a normal car it isnt that brilliant.

If you actually think about it 80-100 miles is way more than you will need for a daily commute but for longer journeys the chrage times takes hours which means it is not going to be very good. The new Vauxhall which is set to be released in 2012 is set to be one of the big compromises when it comes to the green car.

The great thing about this car is that for the first 40 miles the car actually runs on electricty alone which of course is more than enough for someone living in the city.

The ease of recharging it, and pure electric cars, is likely to be improved by policies intended to encourage electric car ownership. The present Government talks of incentives of up to £5,000, while London mayor Boris Johnson aims to make the capital a lead city in the adoption of the electric car.

However until such a green car comes out that is actually worth going after something a bit less greener so why not look into the new Audi or of course a Audi TT Roadster

Failing this you could even look into getting Used Cars however it is really up to you on what you do on this but I would say the best thing to do is just wait and see if things are actually going to get worse before you do anything.

How to make your prized car to last

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Buying a car is one of the biggest investments that a person would make in his/her life. And in most cases it would take a person many years before he/she can pay off that car.  With that in mind it is wise to make sure the car you pay so much for lasts a long time. That is why in this article we are going to talk about some ways you can do to make sure your car lasts.

First of all one little thing you can do that goes a long way is to change the oil.It can be hard to believe that a simple task like this can be beneficial to the car but it is.  In my San Marcos auto repair shop I have seen how cars that do regular oil changes last longer. It just makes sense because oil is one important part of making the car run.Regularly changing the oil will then naturally make it last longer.

Another thing you can do to make your car last longer is to do regular tune ups.It is one of the most overlooked things which you must do to your car.  I recommend all my clients of my Carlsbad auto repair shop to at least do it once a year. The reason behind this is that so the mechanics would see any problems that can get worse if unchecked.

Last tip you should take in mind is to drive gently.Your car is very expensive so you might as well take very good care of it while you are driving. If you don’t drive well then it will affect the longevity of your car. But if you take care when driving it will last a long time.  It is simple advice but it is advice I give all my clients of my San Marcos transmission repair shop.If they can just maintain their cars well then their cars would do the same for them.

So if you follow this little bit of advice you will be rewarded with a car that lasts a long time.

Taking Care Of Your Vehicle By Making Use Of The Appropriate Battery Water

Monday, November 30th, 2009

If you would like your car to function efficiently then there are a number of things you ought to regularly monitor aside from your engine and fuel.  Most owners are a tad indifferent when it comes to the car battery water, which has to be inspected every now and then.  Although you have the newest battery in your vehicle, you still should monitor how much water it contains as it is one of the most important way of monitoring the condition of your car battery.

The incidence of usage and recharging affects the water content of your battery.  The more times you recharge, the more frequently you have to examine the water level because during the charging process, while electric current passes through the lead plates, water undergoes a disintegration reaction during which it separates into its two gaseous elements namely oxygen and hydrogen.  Hence, water is lost during this process.  Note that this is likewise one reason you should stop smoking when inspecting your batteries since hydrogen is highly combustible and oxygen would cause more explosion; needless to say, both gases are explosive.

You would also notice that evaporation may bring about loss of water in several used batteries.  Hence, you need to check them more frequently during warm days and especially if you stay in areas with warm climate.

The hazard when the vehicle water goes too low is that excessive heat may be produced by the battery and likewise the lead plates could be damaged.  This deterioration of the lead plates produces inefficiency during the charging process during which loss of water may also give rise to permanent destruction to the plates.  In other words, the existence of the battery is radically lessened. This could only be additional expense for you when all you should have wanted is nothing more than an addition of water.

While you may have to check that the height of water never goes very low, you need to likewise ensure that you put in only the specified amount of distilled water.  For example, as a precaution, do not exceed the marked water level.  If this is not specified, be certain that water level does not touch the base of the battery cap.  Excess water could spill over into the electrolyte cell and bring about weakening of the acid.

Nevertheless, not every type of water can be used.  While you might think it is okay to get water from a pond, a stern rule requires that you make use of distilled water.  Vehicle battery or any kind of wet battery for that matter depends on the accurate ionic or electrolyte balance in the cell.  Thus, you are not to change the chemical or electrolytic nature of the water inside.  Pure water does not have ions and so it is recommended for the use of watering car batteries.  When we say pure water we talking about, distilled, deionized or demineralized water.  Tap water is never advisable as it could shorten the lifespan of your battery.

Digital Globes

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Globes are the spherical version of a map. Their spherical shape allows them to represent the earth perfectly. Globes were always in used as navigational tools as well as to understand various earth’s processes and phenomena.

The earliest globes were traced to the fifteenth century. Like maps, globes also show accurate directions, dimensions, distances, shapes and sizes of all the countries in the world. Most globe-makers use high quality geographic research and cartographic abilities to design globes. They are also updated regularly to take note of any changes in the world's political, social, or environmental conditions.

Digital globes are those which use advancements in digital technology for representing the earth better. They have digital images over and inside the screen that keep changing as per the user's requirements. The images, derived from satellite images, are made to appear on the screen, which is similar to a picture screen of a television. There are also digital raised-relief globes with clearly defined mountain ranges and water bodies. There are also celestial digital globes available. However, digital globes are not generally meant for commercial applications.

Virtual globes are also digital globes that can be viewed on the computer or any other interface. These may be simple globes used for classroom teaching, or they can be highly technologically advanced. Some virtual globes use state-of-the-art technology like satellite imaging and multiple GIS databases for real-time coverage. Virtual globes can be online or offline. These days, the application of virtual globes has become so common that they are also being fitted in cars in order to make navigation easier for the driver. They can provide detailed information, right down to a street's name.

Another kind of digital globe is the hyperglobe that uses virtual reality to present spatial effects. These are used for visually depicting certain geographic processes and phenomenon such as the earth's inclination, space travel, and satellite technology, through three-dimensional geoid visualization, animation, and real-time presentations. These also have interactive cartometric tools for making the data globally available.

Are Cost Fears Stopping People From Buying Cars?

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Many people are really starting to worry that now the VAT decrease is on its way back up that cars are actually going to become very expensive to buy again. People need to remember what the prices were like before the recession as this is what cars will be going back to when it all ends, it really is no different to the time before recession so do not panic.

Many families have already sold any extra vehicles to make sure that they have only one per household as they are really worried about the rise that is to come in fuel. Of course it does save you a bit but is it really that practical.

At the moment if you are looking to buy a certain car then you may actually have a bit of support from the government. The government are allowing grants for people to scrap their old cars in order to get a greener option but with certain countries already bringing in more taxes for people with eco friendly cars so is it all really worth the hassle?

Well of course it is, you are starting to save the planet from the mess that previous generations have inflicted on it. The main issue with the government is that that make up any old excuse to put a tax on something, they are actually thinking of charging people to leave great Britain. It is doubtful that the government will have to pay for their trips so why should we?

However until such a green car comes out that is actually worth going after something a bit less greener so why not look into Audi Cars or of course a Audi TT Roadster

Failing this you could even look into getting Used Cars however it is really up to you on what you do on this but I would say the best thing to do is just wait and see if things are actually going to get worse before you do anything.

Used Audi Decision

Monday, November 30th, 2009

There is a lesson that I learned from my Mother at a very early age. I remember every single time I used my pocket money to buy a cheap toy, which would inevitably break after only a few minutes, she would chime in with a phrase that has stayed with me ever since. The phrase in question is; “if you pay cheap, you get cheap”. Basically, this means you get what you pay for. If you decide to skimp on the cost of something, you really don’t have much right to complain if the source of the product skimped a bit on the quality.

Now that I am an adult I tend not to buy toys anymore, but the saying still applies to every single facet of capitalist life. I would say it was especially prevalent when it comes to buying yourself a used car. Used cars represent the more affordable area of the car market where many people go directly to find a bargain. However, there is an incredibly small line between ‘bargain’ and ‘pile of scrap’ when it comes used cars. I would recommend spending a little more to ensure you get a car of some distinguishable quality.

Depending on the type of car you are looking for, I would always recommend a manufacturer of Audi’s ilk. For a very long time now they have been producing great cars that have garnered a fantastic reputation for reliability and longevity.

It could be said that the purchase of a Used Audi may prove to be slightly more expensive than a lot of other brands, but it would pay dividends in the long run with better reliability levels.

I have always likened buying a used car to traversing some kind of assault course, laden with all manner of traps and pratfalls ready to catch the unsuspecting victim out. A car sat on a dealer’s forecourt may look absolutely divine and irresistably enticing to the potential buyer. However, a closer inspection under the bonnet may reveal a multitude of problems that would cause many headaches in the months to come.

With this in mind it is definitely worth only visiting reputable used car dealerships, as they will offer you assurances of quality, such as 3 month mechanical guarantees and suchlike. The trick to ensuring you get the best quality used car is to do your car shopping with a series of questions in mind.

The first of these questions is to ask about the vehicle you are interested in with reference to service history. If a vehicle comes with a full, comprehensive and up to date service history, it is highly likely that the vehicle has been looked after and you shouldn’t get much trouble out of it. The second question is to check if the vehicle has been involved in any serious accidents that are likely to affect performance later in the ownership of the vehicle.

When I was faced with the task of buying a used car, I looked specifically at Used Audi models, as a manufacturer of Audi’s ilk and reputation can be relied upon much more than many of the competition. It may cost slightly more, but the investment will pay off over time.

One of the funnest things to do when you have lived in a home for awhile is to do a remodel. It is fun since since once it is done you definitely feel you have a new home.It makes you to once again appreciate your home. And more than likely it surprisingly made your home more usable.Plus if done correctly you can increase the value of your home as well.In today’s market, any way you can boost the value of your home is absolutely worth doing.

So the very first thing you need to do when you are remodeling your home is you surely need to remodel your kitchen.  This is one of the most important rooms of the house. You are definitely making your whole home new when you remodel this room.  Plus if you are planning on sellling it is a great room that sells your home.  I see how much a remodeled kitchen changes my clients home in my San Diego kitchen remodeling company.

The next room you want to focus on that really makes you feel like you done something is the bathroom.Hard to believe that just one small room can make a difference but absolutely it does.Maybe it is because it is so private that people definitely love when it looks perfect.  Whenever people want to remodel their homes in my San Diego bathroom remodeling company I always suggest doing the bathrooms.

Finally you absolutely need to go all out when you do these two rooms.  What I mean by that is really make them look great. Buy beautiful cabinets and great looking granite countertops. Also never forget to provide great flooring.  These three in combination will make the new rooms look fantastic.  I see it all the time in my Carlsbad kitchen remodeling company. In doing these two rooms you definitely can not go wrong.

So there you have the two rooms you must absolutely do if you plan to remodel. They are the rooms that will absolutely make your remodel look perfect.

New Greener Cars Are Out All The Time

Monday, November 30th, 2009

The Riversimple Urban Car will have a far smaller fuel cell than in current industry prototypes and thus needs less hydrogen to be stored on board and in fuelling stations.

It depends on what kind of car you are interested in but if you are into the smaller cars you will love this as it is no bigger than the smart car. It can reach 50mph and travel in excess of 200 miles, consuming the equivalent petrol energy of 300mpg in hydrogen.

Power comes from a 6kw fuel cell, which is tiny compared to the 100kw system powering the Honda Clarity. Something that is very high in importance when it comes to this car is keeping the weight down which is why it is able to be quite speedy.

Another big point to this car is that it allows you to store a lot of electricty within it which means you can get the most out of accelerating power.

One of the really good things about the design to this new car is that once it is all ready it will be made available online for any car manufacturer to take into their own.

The cars themselves will also be leased over 20 years, with fuelling included in the leasing cost, and the materials will be recycled at the end of each car’s lifespan.

Hugo Spowers, head of Riversimple, said: "Cars evolved under very different constraints to those of today, so we must move on. Of course we now realise that we much minimize the resource source of selling cars which is what these cars are trying to do.”

“The Riversimple Urban Car represents a major step towards practical 21st century personal transport and towards the fulfilment of my great-grandfather’s ambitions for accessible personal transport but this time combining his other passions: light weight and high efficiency,” said Piech.

The real question to ask is will they be upgrading things like used cars to make them greener? If you have recently gone out and purchased a Audi TT Roadster then you are not going to be pleased when you cannot upgrade it to make it a bit greener. Audi Carsare just one of the brands that needs to be looked into.
